Monkey Boxing Work Out Schedules

The following information will help you understand the sequence of the videos, and structure a work out schedule

I am teaching this material simultaneously to individuals, to classes, and to people on the net. Thus, I will be bouncing around; this is not a  dry recitation of material, but an actual teaching experience.

VERY important: set aside a couple of hours three times a week, and don’t let ANYTHING get in the way of your work out!

Do not he-man it and start with 100 kicks per kick per side…go through the beginning and intermediate work out schedule. This means spending about three months, at least, on each level.

Build your strength slowly, that way you won’t suffer injuries. The Injury Formula is:

Speed plus Ignorance equals Injury

Beginning Student’s Work Out Schedule

 

10 minutes Warm Ups

20 kicks each side for the following kicks (half in air/half on bags):

Front snap kick with rear leg from front stance

Side thrust kick with rear leg from front stance

Wheel kick with rear leg from front stance

10 minutes partner kicks for the front snap, side thrust, and wheel kicks.

20 minutes for each of the three Slap Grab drills (chop, punch, kick)

Intermediate Student’s Work Out Schedule

10 minutes Warm Ups

50 kicks each side for the following double kicks:

Front snap/Side thrust from Front Stance

Crescent kick/Front snap from horse stance

Oblique kick/Wheel kick with rear leg from front stance

10 minutes plant and push for front heel thrust kick, then the side thrust kick

20 minutes for each of the three Slap Grab drills (chop, punch, kick)

skip snap kick

sliding wheel

Pop Spin kick from horse stance

20 minutes for each of the three Slap Grab drills (chop, punch, kick)
